Legal & Compliance Counsel

About the role

Decathlon Singapore is looking for a Legal & Compliance Counsel who will work across several Decathlon business units in Singapore, covering all legal matters for production, supply and retail. The role connects with Decathlon's legal colleagues worldwide to share best practice and receive support.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory and operational compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies, and manage daily compliance risk identification, reporting and internal audits
• Develop internal controls, preventative measures and governance guidelines, and adapt global headquarters policies to the local context
• Manage product compliance processes for Decathlon Singapore
• Draft, negotiate and review cross-border manufacturing, supply chain and general commercial agreements
• Provide legal support to functional units such as IT, Marketing, Operations and Events
• Support Data Protection leadership, including maintaining the DPTM, and assist with statutory corporate secretarial duties and corporate governance
• Manage legal tech tools, contract repositories and workflow optimization, design and deliver internal legal training, and give ad-hoc support to the regional APAC legal director

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in law; admission to the Singapore Bar or qualification in a Commonwealth jurisdiction preferred
• 3 to 6 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel, preferably in retail, e-commerce, FMCG or supply chain/logistics
• Experience in corporate secretarial and contractual management is a bonus
• Excellent written and spoken English, and excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work autonomously, multitask and meet tight deadlines in an international, fast-paced environment
