M&A & Investments Analyst – China Energy Sector

About the role

The Analyst will join SP Group’s Investment team, focusing on district cooling/heating and solar projects in China. The role combines business and financial analysis with the execution of strategic investments and divestments.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain complex financial models to support valuation and investment decisions.
• Develop negotiation strategies for acquisitions, joint‑venture formations and other transactions.
• Lead transaction execution, including due diligence, project management, documentation review and closing arrangements.
• Conduct business, commercial and market research, assess regulatory developments and maintain an analysis database.
• Coordinate with internal teams (business development, O&M, finance, treasury, legal) and external advisers to progress deals.
• Ensure compliance with internal approval processes and corporate guidelines.
• Prepare reports and presentations for the Board and senior management.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by senior leadership.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business or Engineering with business/finance focus; strong academic record.
• 3‑5 years of experience in corporate finance, M&A, project finance or investments in district cooling/heating, power or renewables.
• Advanced financial modelling capability and a balanced commercial‑risk mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast‑moving environment.
