Machine Learning Engineer – Singapore

About the role

Cantina Labs is a social AI company building real‑time models that bring characters to life. The Singapore team is expanding and seeks a Machine Learning Engineer to design, build and scale data pipelines that turn massive video and multimodal content into training‑ready datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and scale distributed data pipelines for preprocessing, dataset generation and regular refreshes.
• Own workflow orchestration, job scheduling, monitoring and failure recovery for large‑scale processing jobs.
• Implement and maintain containerised pipeline infrastructure using Kubernetes or equivalent.
• Optimize cloud storage and data movement across AWS, GCS or Azure for cost and throughput.
• Develop curation pipelines that select, filter and retain video and image content for model training, including image‑text pair datasets.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience building large‑scale data systems and pipelines for machine‑learning datasets.
• Proficiency with distributed processing frameworks such as PySpark or Ray and orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Strong background in containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud storage and compute platforms (AWS, GCS, Azure) and cost‑throughput trade‑offs.
• Familiarity with video and media processing tools (FFmpeg, PyAV, DALI, OpenCV) and related libraries.
