Manager, Equipment

About the role

West Pharmaceutical Services is hiring an onsite Manager, Equipment in Jurong, Singapore, to lead the equipment engineering function. The role ensures the safe, reliable, efficient and compliant operation of manufacturing assets and covers equipment engineering capital expenditure (CapEx) projects and equipment performance management. The position is onsite for all scheduled workdays, with no relocation assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the equipment engineering team to deliver manufacturing equipment CapEx and technical programmes
• Build the team of equipment engineers and foster collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
• Support or lead technical reviews, installation, commissioning and qualification, adhering to safety, quality, regulatory and engineering standards
• Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting, root cause investigations, continuous improvement and change management
• Coordinate projects across Engineering, Operations, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain and Finance, and with external service providers
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, milestones, resources and risks, and maintain documentation for audits and inspections

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, marine engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 12 years of experience in maintenance, plant fit-out and equipment engineering, including at least 4 years in a leadership role
• Proven experience managing CapEx and maintenance programmes and improving equipment reliability
• Experience in GMP-regulated environments (pharmaceutical, medical device or similar)
• Willingness to provide after-hours or weekend support when needed

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and control systems
• Preferred: PMP or equivalent project management certification
• Preferred: PLC, industrial automation and controls; hands-on experience with autoclaves, molding presses, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and compounding equipment
• Preferred: Microsoft Excel, project reporting tools and AutoCAD
