Manager, Learning Innovations (Centre for Innovation in Learning)

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore's national teacher education institute, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Learning Innovations Manager for its Centre for Innovation in Learning. Reporting directly to the Senior Assistant Head, the appointee advances data-driven innovations in teaching and learning, provides strategic direction for integrating emerging technologies and learning analytics, and works with other teams to adopt educational technologies that give real-time feedback to faculty and students. This is a 2-year contract position.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategic direction and goals for the Learning Innovations team, manage its resources (tools, software, training) and oversee performance, coaching and reviews.
• Report team achievements and project outcomes on learning analytics and data-driven innovations to management.
• Develop and integrate evidence-based frameworks and dashboards for teachers and students, analyse teaching and learning datasets and present findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate on faculty professional development, helping faculty use learning analytics dashboards in course design.
• Stay informed on global and local trends in educational technology and learning analytics, conduct research and lead special projects on AI edtech and data analytics.

Required profile

• University degree in Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, Educational Technology or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in educational technology, learning analytics or a related field in higher education, with leadership in integrating learning analytics into teaching and learning.
• Proven supervisory experience and strong project management skills.
• Experience delivering education programmes that support faculty in using learning analytics and emerging tools.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of emerging educational technologies and data analysis to find themes and trends.
• Ability to interpret teacher-facing and student-facing learning analytics and visualise data; experience with Tableau or PowerBI is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present complex data clearly to faculty and senior leadership.
