Manager, Product Pricing (Actuarial)

About the role

Manulife Singapore's Product Pricing team is looking for a hands-on actuarial Pricing Manager to own pricing workstreams from product design through to system implementation and launch. The role focuses on pricing life insurance products, including new product development and enhancements, with a focus on Indexed Universal Life (IUL). It involves working closely with Product, IT, Operations and senior Pricing and Actuarial leaders, and mentoring junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Independently own pricing workstreams end to end for new life insurance products and enhancements to existing products.
• Build, enhance and run actuarial pricing models hands-on, including model development, validation and documentation.
• Perform profitability analysis, sensitivity and scenario testing, and assess pricing assumptions, product economics and risks to recommend pricing.
• Prepare pricing documentation for internal governance and approval, and present and defend recommendations to Pricing, Product and Actuarial leadership.
• Translate approved product features and pricing specifications into system requirements and partner with Product, IT and Operations across implementation.
• Develop and review test scenarios, support UAT, validate system calculations, investigate defects and support actuarial work through launch.
• Coordinate pricing and implementation aspects of projects, identify issues and dependencies and resolve them with stakeholders.
• Review the actuarial and pricing work of junior colleagues and provide technical mentoring.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of relevant actuarial experience in life insurance.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in life insurance product pricing, actuarial modelling and/or product implementation, including building and running models yourself.
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance or another relevant quantitative discipline.
• Proven ability to take ownership of workstreams independently and communicate pricing recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on experience with an actuarial modelling platform (GGY AXIS or comparable), with the ability to transition to AXIS.
• Preferred: experience pricing IUL products, strong hands-on GGY AXIS experience, end-to-end product and system implementation support, progress toward Associate or Fellow actuarial qualification, and mentoring experience.
