Manager, Public Affairs

About the role

Grab is Southeast Asia's leading superapp, and its Singapore Public Affairs team drives strategies and advocacy, prioritises partnerships and manages engagements on public policy and Singapore's national agenda. The Manager, Public Affairs reports to the Head, Public Affairs, Singapore and supports partnerships strategy and engagement with the Singapore Government, community stakeholders and the public policy community. The role involves in-house policy development with regional teams and regulatory consultations across transport, deliveries and financial services, and is based onsite at the One North office.

Key responsibilities

• Support strategy implementation by working with local country business and corporate support teams to analyse emerging regulatory and public policy issues, assess them and develop action plans
• Build and manage strategic government relations and partnerships, acting as Grab's liaison with government stakeholders and representing Grab at key government meetings and events
• Work with regional public affairs teams to analyse public policy issues, develop positions and provide advocacy recommendations
• Collaborate with teams to plan, launch, execute and evaluate public affairs initiatives and campaigns
• Take part in in-house policy development on financial services, gig economy and antitrust, and on product policies with a public interest angle
• Act as the go-to person for regulatory consultations and clarify complex public policy issues for internal and external audiences

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in public and government affairs in Singapore in public policy, regulatory, strategic advisory, planning and partnership or project management roles
• Passion for making a positive impact in the community and on public policy issues
• Experience orchestrating multi-function efforts and managing plans
• Ability to maintain performance and focus under pressure and adapt quickly to change
