Manager / Senior Manager, International Maritime Centre Promotion (2-Year Contract)

About the role

This is a 2-year contract, individual contributor role within the International Maritime Centre (IMC) Promotion team at MPA, which drives Singapore's development as an international maritime centre. You will partner with international and local shipping companies, giving them access to government initiatives and assistance for their investments in Singapore, and work with other government agencies and industry associations to strengthen links within and beyond the maritime cluster.

Key responsibilities

• Understand business trends affecting shipping and adjacent sectors and share insights with internal and external stakeholders
• Engage in promotional efforts for the local and international shipping community and act as the main MPA contact for a portfolio of shipping companies
• Facilitate the expansion of shipping companies in and from Singapore and cultivate long-term relationships with the international maritime industry
• Identify new growth markets and emerging maritime businesses, including new fuel businesses and activities in sustainability, decarbonisation and digitalisation
• Work with shipping companies on workforce development programmes and encourage use of MPA-administered programmes
• Monitor and report on the progress of projects with your shipping accounts, and develop new partnerships with stakeholders
• Provide customer service and assistance, curate client engagement platforms and travel to international events or client visits when needed
• Take on ad-hoc projects supporting government and agency initiatives when suitable

Required profile

• At least 2 years of working experience; candidates with no prior experience may also apply
• Experience with Singapore public sector client engagement, investment promotion and sector development is an advantage
• Experience in strategy development, business planning, finance or taxation is also relevant
• Excellent written and presentation communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills with stakeholders at all levels
• Resilient, flexible, resourceful and able to work independently and in a team
