Manufacturing Engineer (4pm to 1.30am)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Singapore. The engineer develops and maintains methods, operating sequences and processes for fabricating parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies, and works with other engineering functions to coordinate product releases and reduce manufacturing costs while improving quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain test procedures, including Mayan test procedures for the Endura Mainframe, keeping documentation accurate and compliant
• Provide technical support to resolve production issues and enable timely system shipments, working with Operations and Test teams
• Design, validate and deploy test fixtures with CTE, Operations and cross-functional teams
• Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce standard labor hours and scrap/rework, applying Lean and Six Sigma principles
• Attend product transition meetings and ensure manufacturing readiness for test procedures, jigs, tooling and facilities
• Resolve field escalations with Test Engineers, customers, suppliers and Operations, and implement CAPA for systemic issues
• Dispose of production DMRs on time and drive suppliers on root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Perform Job Hazard Assessments and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) assessments, and maintain LOTO maps for test bays

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree
• 2-4 years of related experience
• Strong conceptual knowledge and technical experience for everyday problem solving
• Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, work in tight spaces, lift, and work in a noisy environment; clean room PPE such as coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirators and face shields may be required
