Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Singapore. The engineer develops and maintains methods, operating sequences and processes for fabricating parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies, and works closely with other engineering functions to coordinate product improvements and new products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain methods, operation sequences and processes for fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
• Interface with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products.
• Launch, release, approve and implement engineering change requests to support design engineering and operations.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements.
• Use DFx principles to reduce manufacturing and product costs and improve product quality.
• Develop and use test procedures, including defining test specifications with design and software engineering, and possibly designing test fixtures with test engineering.
• Gather operational and test data, evaluate results and take corrective or continuous improvement actions.
• Evaluate work methods, procedures and policies, and document business processes.
• Determine root cause and corrective actions for assembly and test issues, and provide failure analysis reports.
• Perform Process Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis during new product development.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in the semiconductor, electronics or engineering industries.
• Relevant engineering qualifications.
• Able to work with stakeholders at all levels globally and attend global meetings across different time zones.
• Project management experience is an added advantage.
