Manufacturing Engineer - Semiconductor Equipment Start-Up

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for display and semiconductor chips, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Singapore. The role covers start-up methods and procedures for semiconductor equipment, field digitalised start-up procedures (iOMS), BoM integrity and automation initiatives, working with engineering, operations and cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain methods, operating sequences and processes for equipment assemblies during start-up.
• Lead the development and sustainment of field digitalised start-up procedures (iOMS) for Tier 0 and Tier 1 operations.
• Allocate tasks to illustrators and oversee progress to ensure timely, high-quality OMS and DOC deliverables.
• Manage BoM integrity across SHPK, MERG, ship-along, SRD and other configuration sources.
• Drive automation initiatives to shorten production and delivery cycle times.
• Reduce installation and warranty costs by fixing BoM errors and improving procedures, and review field NCs to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate technical issues, RIT initiatives and new technologies and CIP projects such as 3D OMS across business units.
• Work independently with limited documentation to investigate issues and recommend improvements, and support engineering change requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with semiconductor equipment in manufacturing or technical field service.
• Able to work flexibly, including outside standard hours, and willing to travel internationally to customer sites about 10% of the time.
• Relocation eligible.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with semiconductor process equipment; familiarity with MDP, EPI, ALD or CMP is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good knowledge of system BoM structure, assembly processes and procedure documentation.
• Proficiency with CAD (e.g. SolidWorks), CAM tools (e.g. NX), SAP and MS Office.
