Manufacturing Equipment Technician (12-Hour Day Shift)

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) is hiring a Manufacturing Equipment Technician for its Tuas plant in Singapore. You will play a hands-on role maintaining, troubleshooting and optimising automated assembly equipment so that production runs safely, reliably and efficiently. The role suits people with experience in assembly equipment maintenance, machine troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, machine setup and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hands-on preventive and corrective maintenance on automated assembly equipment and manufacturing machinery
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and faults to minimise downtime, diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and process issues
• Carry out servicing, parts replacement, calibration and machine adjustments, and escalate complex issues to Engineers and Subject Matter Experts
• Perform machine setup, tool and die changes, equipment adjustments and product changeovers
• Monitor equipment conditions, conduct inspections and keep accurate maintenance records
• Coach Technicians and Operators on equipment operation and troubleshooting, and support onboarding of new team members
• Work with Production, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges

Required profile

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience in equipment maintenance, machine troubleshooting or manufacturing technical support in a production environment
• Hands-on experience with automated assembly equipment, production machinery or high-volume manufacturing systems preferred
• Familiarity with pneumatic systems, mechanical components, sensors, motors, actuators and machine setup
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments is an advantage
