Manufacturing Technician 2

About the role

Illumina is hiring a Manufacturing Technician 2 to support the production of its instruments. The role covers sub-system alignment, calibration, functional testing, troubleshooting, final integration and system testing, producing high-quality products under general supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble electro/optical/mechanical sub-systems requiring calibration and functional test according to standard operating procedures
• Troubleshoot components and integrated systems, and align complex optical systems using in-house software and instruments
• Assemble and align laser-based equipment and perform functional tests
• Perform instrument final integration and full system test, and final product QC, inspection and packaging
• Collect and analyse data, process work orders and interpret quality data
• Create and update work instructions, and support Continuous Improvement, 6S and Lean activities
• Support material kitting, packaging and crating, and perform inventory checks and cycle counts
• Enter transactions in MES and ERP systems, and report non-conformances in the NC platform
• Coordinate with the Equipment Team on scheduled maintenance

Required profile

• Experience with FDA-regulated medical device manufacturing
• Previous positions in fast-paced corporate environments with responsibility for similar work
• Good verbal communication and ability to identify colours (yellow, blue, red and brown) for component and chemical identification
• Preferred: Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic engineering, and 1-2 years of related experience

• Knowledge of compliance and safety requirements
• Preferred: experience with SOPs, work instructions, GMP, 6S and Lean
