Manufacturing Technician (General)

About the role

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, is looking for a Manufacturing Technician (General) to join its team at the Seletar Aerospace View site in Singapore. The role is onsite and involves setting up, operating and maintaining shot peening, media finishing and balancing machines, while supporting manufacturing processes and safety programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain shot peen, media finish and balancing machines.
• Perform simple troubleshooting of machines.
• Read and follow established procedures and work instructions.
• Carry out risk assessments and take corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain daily 6S lean activities to keep the workplace safe.
• Work cross-functionally to support the various manufacturing processes.
• Take part in EH&S programmes and support continuous improvement and CORE activities, plus other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• NITEC in Precision, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant experience in shot peening, media finish or balancing.
• 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, precision engineering or machining.
• Comfortable with hands-on work using tools and equipment.
• Able to understand basic technical instructions and SOPs, meticulous and detail-oriented.
• Willing to work permanent night shift and overtime on a need basis.

Preferred qualifications

• Conventional machining, peening and inspection skills.
• Experience operating CMM measurement machines.
• Aerospace, manufacturing or precision engineering experience.
