Manufacturing Technician (Precision Machining)

About the role

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defence company, is hiring a Manufacturing Technician in Singapore. The role involves setting up, operating and maintaining conventional and CNC machine tools to manufacture precision components according to technical drawings and work instructions, and performing inspection checks, basic machine troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain conventional and CNC machine tools to manufacture components according to technical drawings and work instructions.
• Use measuring equipment, gauges and fixtures to carry out dimensional inspections and ensure product accuracy.
• Perform basic machine troubleshooting, maintain production records and report machine, tooling or safety concerns to the Supervisor.
• Keep work areas clean and organised, follow technical instructions and support other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Required profile

• NITEC or Higher NITEC in Precision Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least two years of working experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Basic proficiency in written and spoken English, able to understand technical instructions and engineering drawings.
• Willingness and ability to work weekly rotating shifts, with a strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.

What you will learn

• Hands-on experience operating conventional and CNC machines, including milling, turning, grinding, shaping, hobbing and broaching.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and technical work instructions.
• Using measuring instruments, gauges and fixtures for accurate dimensional inspection.
• Troubleshooting, safety awareness and production teamwork in a precision engineering environment.
