Material Project Management – Singapore

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Material Project Management professional to lead forecasting, sourcing, and material strategy for semiconductor and display equipment. The role is based in Singapore and works closely with engineering, planning and supplier teams to ensure timely delivery of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials and manufacturing requirements to suppliers, coordinating demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and provide input to outsourcing decisions.
• Lead the Materials Core Team, managing product development deliverables via matrix management of buyers, planners and production control.
• Create, release and update new project materials strategies under supervision.
• Assist in supplier price and delivery negotiations, conduct supplier risk assessments and monitor performance on delivery, quality and cost.
• Coordinate source selection, specification creation and price negotiation; execute commercialization material plans and manage material change control.
• Generate and publish key process indicators, track total landed cost targets and resolve quality issues.
• Partner with engineering to identify critical and long‑lead parts, support value analysis and should‑cost studies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in materials and supply‑chain disciplines with basic knowledge of related engineering areas.
• Understanding of best practices, market competition and how the materials function integrates with other business units.
• Ability to lead small projects, solve complex problems and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical information and build consensus.
