Materials Program Manager

About the role

The Materials Program Manager leads material strategy and flow across Singapore, Malaysia, and China, ensuring visibility of current and future material issues while driving operational efficiency. This role partners with planners, production managers, engineering, and supply‑chain teams to mitigate risks and support critical schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee material strategy and inventory goals for the region, managing MRP execution and reducing liability exposure.
• Develop and implement supplier roadmaps, risk‑analysis programs, VMI and JIT initiatives to shorten lead times.
• Collaborate with planners, production managers, and engineering to ensure visibility of material issues and critical part requirements.
• Lead a cross‑functional team, act as escalation point for internal and external stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in the Materials Core Team, coordinate product‑development deliverables, and support new project material strategies.
• Design inventory programs (VMI, JIT, discrete orders) and recommend risk‑buy or consignment options.
• Assess burst‑demand scenarios, work with SCM on localization or alternate sourcing, and lead project‑team initiatives.
