Materials Project Manager (B2)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Materials Project Manager (B2) in Singapore. The role sits under direct supervision and covers supplier coordination, sourcing and material planning for product development.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials and manufacturing requirements to suppliers, and give input to outsourcing decisions through make versus buy analysis.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimise inventory exposure.
• Take part in the Materials Core Team and coordinate product development deliverables with buyers, planners and production control.
• Support the creation, release and update of the materials strategy, and take part in the commercialisation (transition) materials plan and the material change control process.
• Assist in supplier price and delivery negotiations and, under direct supervision, negotiate contracts; use the supplier selection and assessment process and complete supplier risk assessments for critical and unique parts.
• Monitor supplier performance on delivery, quality and cost, and resolve supplier quality issues with engineering.
• Work with engineering on critical and long-lead parts, inspection requirements and supplier and commodity roadmaps.
• Meet cost objectives, resolve quality issues, generate and publish KPIs, track landed cost targets and run value analysis on build-to-print components for Should Cost analysis.

Required profile

• Expanded conceptual knowledge in the own discipline and broadened capabilities.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to solve problems in straightforward situations using technical experience and judgment.
• No supervisory responsibilities, but informal guidance to new team members.
• Able to explain complex information clearly.
