Materials Project Manager

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Materials Project Manager in Singapore. The role covers planning, sourcing, inventory control and supplier management for the company's production needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage a cross-functional planning process covering make versus buy, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory and associated costs.
• Analyse customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to run build-to-order and build-to-forecast plans.
• Coordinate with business teams on the best-cost production planning strategy and establish inventory forecasting, purchasing and material control processes.
• Manage production scheduling by monitoring inventories, tracking progress and reviewing schedule-affecting factors.
• Ensure accurate inventory counts through an inventory control system managed with Finance, and take corrective action on discrepancies.
• Develop a sourcing strategy and manage relationships with suppliers to meet cost, quality and delivery targets, including a supplier scorecard system.
• Work with quality, engineering, machining and assembly to ensure on-time delivery.
• Represent the materials organisation on corporate materials task forces, manage the department budget and select, evaluate and manage employees.

Required profile

• Comprehensive understanding of the job family and its integration within the segment, plus knowledge of related areas.
• Ability to manage multiple teams, set priorities and allocate resources.
• Ability to resolve complex technical, operational and organisational problems and influence internal and external stakeholders, including senior management.
