Mechanical Engineer - Specialty Rotating Equipment

About the role

kbr is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to review the design and selection of specialty rotating equipment on EPC projects, such as process gas compressors and sea water injection pumps. The role also covers preparing technical specifications and coordinating with clients, suppliers and other disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Review the design and selection of specialty rotating equipment on EPC projects, in compliance with international API codes and client specification requirements.
• Select equipment such as process gas compressors and sea water injection pumps according to those standards.
• Prepare technical specifications and data sheets for rotating equipment and packages, including centrifugal compressors, screw compressor packages, sea water injection pumps and reciprocating pumps/compressors.
• Coordinate work with inter-disciplines, the client and suppliers.
• Review technical evaluations of bids and prepare technical bid tabulation reports.
• Perform vendor document and design reviews for specialty rotating equipment and packages.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience on EPC projects with reputable international clients.
• Offshore project experience (well head, fixed platforms and FPSO) is preferred.
• Good coordination and communication skills, and very good spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of international industry codes such as ASME and API.
• Ability to coordinate across disciplines and with clients and suppliers.
