Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Air Liquide Singapore Private Limited (ALSg), the largest industrial gas company in south-east Asia, is hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. The engineer supports best practices for routine and unplanned mechanical maintenance to optimise equipment efficiency and uptime, ensures timely completion of maintenance and repair work, and takes an active part in safety programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all mechanical maintenance activities in line with the Master Plan Schedule.
• Implement preventive, predictive and shutdown maintenance programmes for mechanical equipment, VIE backup systems and H2 and Helium bunkers.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in MAXIMO and produce monthly maintenance reports.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for reliability issues and develop preventive action plans.
• Respond quickly to equipment failures, including on-site presence within 2 hours for call-back maintenance, and investigate to recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure spare parts availability for process equipment and VIE tanks, set up stock control for new plants and run annual stock takes of mechanical spares.
• Execute work orders raised by the operations team and train operation staff on mechanical equipment.
• Support operation managers with customer queries and audits, and carry out quality and safety audits.
• Evaluate and improve maintenance strategies to reduce costs and improve reliability, and manage risk assessments and methods of statement for mechanical equipment.

Required profile

• Familiarity with preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of plant equipment.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques for rotating and static mechanical equipment.
• At least 2 to 3 years of experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel to various plant sites for maintenance and troubleshooting support.
• Customer-oriented approach, strong ownership and team management skills.
