Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Jurong Island

About the role

Sembcorp is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its Gas & Related Services segment on Jurong Island. The role focuses on delivering reliable, efficient mechanical upkeep for plant equipment while supporting the company’s low‑carbon energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Perform corrective mechanical maintenance on all plant equipment, including valves, piping, safety and control shut‑off valves.
• Carry out daily inspections, attend to defects and breakdowns, and calibrate mechanical assets.
• Troubleshoot, conduct fault diagnosis and failure analysis to identify root causes.
• Develop risk assessments and mitigation measures for each maintenance job.
• Apply for Permit to Work (PTW) as the Competent Person and ensure HSE compliance.
• Supervise contractors and coordinate with other maintenance crafts and technicians.
• Withdraw and prepare spares from the warehouse for job execution.
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX for all mechanical activities.
• Prepare daily maintenance updates for operations stakeholders.
• Potentially serve on the Company Emergency Response Team (training provided).

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 3‑5 years of experience maintaining mechanical and piping systems in utilities or process industries.
• Well‑organized, target‑oriented and able to communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, technicians and managers.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control valves, piping and relevant international standards.
• Team player with a strict adherence to company HSE requirements.
