Mechanical Technician (Cleanroom)

About the role

As a Mechanical Technician in a cleanroom environment at NTS Singapore, you will perform precision mechanical assembly of semiconductor equipment modules, panels and sub‑assemblies. The role demands strict adherence to engineering drawings, BOMs, SOPs and cleanroom protocols to meet high quality and precision standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble precision mechanical components, frames, panels and sub‑assemblies using calibrated hand tools, torque wrenches, fixtures and gauges, ensuring alignment, fastening, torquing, levelling and adjustment to tight tolerances.
• Perform in‑process quality checks, basic functional verification, and maintain accurate production travellers, checklists and traceability records.
• Strictly follow cleanroom, ESD, FOD, material handling, PPE and EHS procedures, keeping work areas and tools clean.
• Identify and report non‑conformances, safety hazards and incidents, supporting resolution per ISO 9001 and internal QMS.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, quality and planning teams, contributing to Kaizen, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• ITE/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, Tool & Die or equivalent technical qualification.
• 2–6 years of hands‑on experience in precision mechanical assembly, preferably in semiconductor, electronics, medical devices or high‑precision contract manufacturing.
• Experience working in cleanroom manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
• Strong ability to read and work from engineering drawings, BOMs, SOPs and work instructions.
