NDT Inspector (FPI)

About the role

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, is hiring an NDT Inspector (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, FPI) for its manufacturing services in Singapore. The role is onsite and involves setting up and running inspection equipment, evaluating parts and supporting continuous improvement programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate them for acceptance or rejection and document results according to procedures.
• Be familiar with the scope and limitations of the FPI method and guide trainees and Level 1 personnel.
• Know the P&W codes, standards and contractual documents that control the methods.
• Carry out system performance checks in line with process standards.
• Develop and manage procedures and inspection technique sheets for NDT Level 3 approval.
• Support continuous improvement and CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) activities.
• Learn new advanced technologies and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Level 2 in FPI with at least 400 hours of FPI experience.
• Knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technology.
• Ability to understand technical instructions, drawings and SOPs.
• Attention to detail, hands-on approach, and ability to lift and carry parts with equipment and tools.
• Passes the Jaeger vision test (at least 12 inches) and a colour blindness test.
• Willing to work night shifts and overtime when needed.
