Night Shift Build Operations Manager

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for chips and advanced displays, is hiring a Night Shift Build Operations Manager in Singapore. The role supervises employees involved in production and operation functions such as assembly, inspection, test and final test, supporting the manufacturing of capital equipment and systems, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical components, subassemblies and subsystems.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and materials requirements.
• Take part in operational meetings, track performance metrics, schedule milestone meetings and improve cycle time and other metrics.
• Respond quickly to operations issues affecting customer satisfaction, act as an interface for customer and vendor requirements, and initiate corrective action on quality costs.
• Prevent accidents and injuries, ensure all employees (including temporary staff) receive environmental, health and safety training, and enforce safety policies.
• Develop personnel through training and career development, manage performance goals, and oversee hiring, rewards and discipline.
• Plan for maximum production capacity, monitor manufacturing processes and data, and drive Lean, safety and quality improvements.

Required profile

• Formal supervisory responsibilities, setting priorities and coaching employees to meet daily deadlines.
• Ability to solve day-to-day technical and operational problems and to influence the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
• Understanding of Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical behaviour.
• Physical demands: prolonged standing, walking, working in tight spaces, lifting, and potential clean-room work requiring PPE such as coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirators and face shields.
