Non-Tech Project/Program Management - Ramp

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a non-tech project and program manager for its Ramp business unit in Singapore. The role covers the definition, execution and documentation of projects and programs, with full-time hours and travel of about 25%.

Key responsibilities

• Define project and program objectives for each area of responsibility and complete preliminary activities such as outcome determination, milestones, viability studies and resource planning.
• Ensure projects and programs meet predetermined requirements, including product/process specifications, costs, resource utilization and timeliness.
• Document all phases of project, program and process development and report, disseminate or transfer the required information to other functions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies on engineering/lab notebooks, patents, confidentiality and safety.
• Use material and financial resources effectively and work with other staff to maximise productivity.

Required profile

• Conceptual and practical expertise in one's own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Knowledge of best practices and how the area fits with others, awareness of the competition and market differentiators.
• Able to act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and lead small, low-risk projects.
• Ability to solve complex problems, exercise judgment across multiple sources of information and build consensus.
• Willingness to work in a clean room, which may require personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons and face shields.
• Physical demands include prolonged standing, walking, working in tight spaces and using hand and power tools.
