Operations Management Manager (1st Shift)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring an Operations Management Manager for the first shift in Singapore. The role supervises staff involved in production and operation functions such as assembly, inspection, test and final test, supporting the manufacturing of capital equipment and systems, electronic, mechanical and electromechanical components, subassemblies and subsystems.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize production schedules based on available manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements.
• Take part in operational meetings, support the development and tracking of performance metrics, schedule milestone meetings and improve cycle time performance.
• Ensure timely responses to operations issues affecting customer satisfaction, act as an interface for customer and vendor requirements, and initiate corrective actions on quality costs.
• Oversee prevention of employee accidents and injuries, ensure all employees (including temporary staff) receive environmental, health and safety training, and monitor compliance with safety policies.
• Develop personnel through training and career development, manage performance management, goals, employee development plans and coaching, and oversee hiring, rewards and discipline.
• Support production capacity optimization, implement and monitor processes that collect, analyze and report key measurement data, and identify process and quality improvements.
• Drive Lean, Safety and Quality initiatives and take corrective action.

Required profile

• Formal supervisory responsibilities, setting priorities and coaching employees to meet daily deadlines.
• Ability to use judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.
• Tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive issues, and ability to interact with customers, vendors or suppliers.
• Understanding of procedures and concepts within the own job family and basic knowledge of related ones.
