Operations Management Manager (Build)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring an Operations Management Manager (Build) in Singapore. The role supervises employees involved in production and operation functions such as assembly, inspection, test and final test, supporting the manufacturing of capital equipment and systems, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical components, subassemblies and subsystems.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements.
• Take part in operational meetings, track performance metrics, schedule milestone meetings and improve cycle time and other metrics.
• Respond quickly to operations issues affecting customer satisfaction, ensure conformance to customer and vendor requirements, and initiate corrective action on quality costs.
• Prevent employee accidents and injuries, ensure all staff (including temporary workers) receive environmental, health and safety training, and enforce safety policies.
• Develop personnel through training and career development, manage performance goals, and oversee hiring, rewards and discipline.
• Plan for maximum production capacity, monitor manufacturing processes and data collection, and drive Lean, safety and quality improvements.

Required profile

• Formal supervisory responsibilities, setting priorities and coaching employees to meet daily deadlines.
• Ability to solve day-to-day technical and operational problems and to handle sensitive issues tactfully.
• Willingness to stand for long periods, walk, work in tight spaces, lift, and wear clean-room PPE such as coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirators and face shields.
• Understanding of Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct.

The position is full time, with travel of about 10% of the time and no relocation eligibility.
