Operations Management Manager

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring an Operations Management Manager in Singapore. The role supervises staff involved in production and operation functions such as assembly, inspection, test and final test, supporting the manufacturing of capital equipment and systems, electronic, mechanical and electromechanical components, subassemblies and subsystems.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements.
• Take part in operational meetings, track performance metrics, schedule milestone meetings and improve cycle time and other metrics.
• Respond quickly to operations issues affecting customer satisfaction, ensure conformance to customer and vendor requirements, and initiate corrective action on quality costs.
• Prevent employee accidents and injuries, ensure all employees (including temporary ones) receive environmental, health and safety training, and enforce safety policies.
• Develop personnel through training and career development, manage performance management, goals, development plans and coaching, and oversee hiring, rewards and discipline.
• Plan for maximum production capacity, monitor manufacturing processes that collect and report key data, and identify process and quality improvements.
• Drive Lean, Safety and Quality initiatives and take corrective action.

Required profile

• Must be able to work a permanent evening shift (4:00 PM to 1:30 AM).
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, work in tight spaces, lift, and work in a noisy environment; use of hand and power tools.
• Clean room work may require personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons and face shields.
• Formal supervisory responsibilities, problem solving, and the ability to handle sensitive issues diplomatically.

The position is full-time and fixed term, with travel of about 10% of the time and no relocation eligibility.
