OPEX Engineer (Lean & Continuous Improvement)

About the role

West Pharmaceutical Services is hiring an OPEX Engineer for an onsite position at its Singapore site. The role takes responsibility for deploying and executing lean management and continuous improvement initiatives so that the plant achieves its objectives. The position is onsite for all scheduled workdays, and no relocation assistance is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement lean deployment and structured continuous improvements such as Kaizen, DMAIC, VSM, 5S and SMED, and monitor progress to ensure results are sustained.
• Give technical advice and analytical support for site-level projects through workshops using Lean and Six Sigma methods.
• Develop and maintain dashboards (Power BI / Excel) to track KPIs and operational performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Work with Automation, Digital and Technology stakeholders on digitalization, including data visibility and reporting efficiency.
• Promote a Lean culture and continuous improvement mindset within operational teams.
• Support and lead cross-functional teams in cost saving, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure Lean standards are met, keep Lean process documentation up to date, and verify new Lean concepts and measure post-implementation results (e.g., cell manufacturing).

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Lean Management or Six Sigma in a manufacturing or highly regulated environment.
• Foundational knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies; certification in Lean or Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred).
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (functions, pivot tables, data modeling) and Power BI or similar visualization tools.
• SAP (basic functional knowledge preferred).
• Process mapping and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and presentation skills, and ability to work independently while collaborating across functions.
