Job description

About the role

The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for a Part-Time Lecturer for the postgraduate course AP6421 AI Driven Computer Graphics and Visualisation. The course is one of the elective offerings of the new MSc in Game Design, Art and Technology, and begins in January 2027.

The course emphasises the role of automation and artificial intelligence in contemporary digital game development. Students learn procedural generation for environments, terrains, assets and behaviours, AI-driven gameplay and content generation (adaptive systems, intelligent NPCs, dynamic level design), and the integration and visualisation of live data in real time with a modern game engine. The role also covers extending these approaches to urban planning, scientific simulation, interactive storytelling and data-informed digital art.

Key responsibilities

  • Teach core game-design concepts such as rules, systems and interactive frameworks.
  • Support students in developing procedural and AI-driven workflows and building adaptive, interactive systems.
  • Guide students in integrating and visualising real-time data and in turning ideas into functional game demos.
  • Show how these techniques apply across projects and to immersive visualisation, simulation and other interactive digital experiences.

Required profile

  • A relevant Master's and/or PhD in Game Design, Interactive Media or a related field, with a track record of creative practice in the gaming industry.
  • Past undergraduate-level teaching experience is preferred.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Game Design or a related field and sufficient, relevant industry experience (e.g. lead design/animation or indie development) may be considered in exceptional cases.

Required skills

  • Expertise in contemporary game design and development workflows, especially automation, procedural generation, artificial intelligence and real-time game-engine technologies.
  • Ability to teach core game-design concepts and guide students in applying emerging computational approaches to game content and behaviour.

Applications are submitted through the university's careers portal; the closing date is 12 November 2026 and the successful candidate is expected to start in January 2027. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
