Planning and Control Planner

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Planning and Control Planner to manage production, inventory, and process control activities. The role ensures material availability, supports engineering projects, and drives data‑driven improvements across the manufacturing floor.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain SAP work order release schedules to deliver material on‑time to manufacturing and engineering.
• Perform pre‑shortage analysis, work order variance analysis, and MRP execution reviews to ensure accurate supply‑demand reconciliation.
• Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and provide status reports on ECOs and ECRs.
• Participate in floor audits, resolve WIP issues, and attend production meetings to report material shortage commit dates.
• Analyze inventory usage data, forecast spare‑part needs, and expedite shortages while managing obsolete inventory.
• Support process control by identifying root causes from PCI reporting, driving cycle counting, and contributing to corrective actions.
• Lead data‑analysis projects, consolidate structured and unstructured data, perform statistical and data‑mining analysis, and create visualizations using Tableau.

Required profile

• Experience with production, inventory, or material resources planning in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform variance analysis and forecast demand.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, finance, and cross‑functional teams to resolve material and WIP issues.
