Planning and Control Planner

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Planning and Control Planner to manage production, inventory and material resources planning (MRP) activities. The role ensures timely material delivery to manufacturing and engineering, supports process control and contributes to data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain SAP work order release schedule and perform pre‑shortage analysis to increase component availability.
• Review MRP execution, reconcile supply and demand, and validate master scheduling.
• Analyze inventory usage, order parts to meet service levels, and manage obsolete inventories.
• Participate in floor audits, resolve WIP issues, and attend production meetings on material shortage status.
• Conduct data analysis, statistical and data‑mining tasks, and create visualizations using Tableau, Python or SQL.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in planning, inventory control and process control.
• Understands best practices and how planning integrates with other business functions.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and can lead small projects.
• Solves complex problems using judgment based on multiple information sources.
