Planning and Control Planner

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Planning and Control Planner in Singapore. The role covers planning activities such as production control, inventory control, process control and shop floor control, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the SAP production order release schedule so materials arrive on time for manufacturing and engineering, and reschedule or complete no-charge discrete jobs as needed.
• Perform pre-shortage analysis to increase component availability at release, and carry out work order variance analysis.
• Review MRP execution, reconcile supply and demand, validate master scheduling and PDS requirements, and review the disposition of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Run regular system maintenance and audits, prepare status reports on ECOs and ECRs, and take part in floor audits with Finance to resolve WIP issues.
• Attend production meetings, report material shortage commitment dates, adjust make-level lead times to match the floor, and work with engineers on materials for special engineering projects.
• Analyze usage data and stock levels to order parts, maintain planned inventory levels, expedite shortages, forecast spare parts needs, examine material variances, and assist in setting up or modifying inventory systems.
• Manage obsolete inventories and assign expediting duties to expediters.
• Take part in root cause analysis and corrective actions from PCI reporting and metrics, and drive cycle counting.

Required profile

• Expanded conceptual knowledge in the own discipline and broadened capabilities.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to use it to get the job done.
• No supervisory responsibilities, but informal guidance to new team members.
• Able to solve problems in straightforward situations and explain complex information clearly.

The position is full time, with no travel and no relocation eligibility.
