Planning and Control Planner

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Planning and Control Planner in Singapore. The role covers planning activities such as production control, inventory control, process control and shop floor control, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) integrity. It is a full-time position with no supervisory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the SAP production order release schedule so materials arrive on time for manufacturing and engineering, reschedule and TEKO work orders as needed, and perform pre-shortage analysis to improve component availability at release.
• Perform work order variance analysis, review MRP execution, reconcile supply and demand, validate master scheduling and PDS requirements, and ensure proper disposition of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Prepare status reports on ECOs and ECRs, run regular system maintenance and audits, and take part in floor audits with Finance to resolve WIP issues.
• Attend production meetings, report material shortage commitment dates, adjust make-level lead times to match the floor, and work with engineers on materials for special engineering projects.
• Analyze usage data and stock levels to order parts, maintain planned inventory levels, expedite shortages, forecast spare parts needs, examine material variances, and assist in setting up or modifying inventory systems.
• Manage obsolete inventories, assign expediting duties to expediters, and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions from PCI reporting and metrics, driving cycle counting.

Required profile

• Expanded conceptual knowledge in the own discipline and understanding of key business drivers.
• Able to solve problems in straightforward situations using technical experience and judgment.
• Able to explain complex information clearly to others.
• No supervisory responsibilities, though informal guidance is given to new team members.
