Planning and Control Planner

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Planning and Control Planner in Singapore. The role covers production control, inventory control, process control and shop floor control, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the SAP work order release schedule so materials arrive on time for manufacturing and engineering, reschedule and complete no-charge discrete jobs, and perform pre-shortage analysis and work order variance analysis.
• Review MRP execution, reconcile supply and demand, validate master scheduling and PDS requirements, and ensure proper disposition of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), preparing status reports on ECOs and ECRs.
• Take part in floor audits with Finance to resolve WIP issues, attend production meetings and report on material shortage commitment dates.
• Work with engineers on materials for special engineering projects and with work centers on shop floor control activities.
• Analyze usage data and stock levels to order parts, maintain planned inventory levels, expedite shortages, forecast spare parts needs, resolve material variances, and assist in setting up or modifying inventory systems.
• Participate in root cause analysis and cycle counting from PCI reporting and metrics.
• Act as subject matter expert on data consolidation and analysis, run ad-hoc statistical and data-mining analysis, create visualizations in Tableau, and use Python, SQL or equivalent tools to turn data into action items.

Required profile

• Conceptual and practical expertise in the own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Knowledge of best practices and how the area fits with others, awareness of the competition and market differentiators.
• Ability to act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and lead small, low-risk projects.
• Solves complex problems, judges across multiple sources of information, and builds consensus.
