Plant Engineer

About the role

Evonik Methionine SEA Pte. Ltd. is looking for a Plant Engineer in Jurong Island. The role acts as the maintenance gatekeeper, reviewing maintenance notifications prepared by production and turning approved ones into work orders in the SAP system, while supporting plant safety, reliability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Assess maintenance notifications prepared by production and transform approved ones into work orders in SAP
• Check that work performed by maintenance contractors meets specifications
• Maintain master documents and update plant documentation to company standards
• Support plant turnaround activities
• Contribute to continuous improvement and prepare recommendations for alternative equipment or improved plant design
• Help maintain facility quality, safety and environmental programs, including non-conformance actions and MOC processes
• Maintain and optimize maintenance plans covering preventive measures, inspections and routine works
• Prepare cost analysis and reports on maintenance effectiveness
• Identify shortcomings in processes, systems and procedures and use change management programs to address them

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in the related field
• Junior executives specializing in maintenance/repair (facilities and machinery) or chemical engineering preferred
• Willingness to work in Jurong Island, where company transport is provided

Required skills

• Good understanding of chemical or mechanical process equipment
• Good communication skills for teamwork and knowledge sharing
• Able to work without supervision and give technical guidance on planning, organizing and prioritizing
