Polytechnic Engineering Intern 2026 (Equipment or Process)

About the role

GlobalFoundries Singapore is looking for motivated Engineering interns to join its state-of-the-art factory. Interns are the company's talent pipeline and receive one-on-one mentorship, growth-focused work assignments, professional development and networking with executives. The internship is a 20-24 week credit-bearing programme starting from March 2026, and candidates must state their internship period in their CV, resume or cover letter.

Key responsibilities

• Equipment Engineering Intern: work with an assigned engineer to improve preventive maintenance by executing scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting on time, supporting production quality, uptime and cost.
• Assist in tool installation and modification to improve capacity, efficiency and tool uptime and throughput.
• Carry out troubleshooting and hardware repairs.
• Take part in quality improvement teams and give continuous feedback on areas for improvement.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and comply with safety practices.
• Process Engineering Intern: review, analyse and respond to inline process control charts to meet quality, cost and productivity goals.
• Troubleshoot process issues, provide accurate data for wafer disposition and help qualify new processes and improvements.
• Optimise production moves, take part in cross-functional projects and lead improvement projects, presenting results.
• Collaborate with equipment and maintenance teams, engineers, technicians, managers and production staff.
• Perform all work safely and support environmental, health, safety and security requirements.

Required profile

• Actively pursuing a diploma in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• Student undertaking a 20-24 week credit-bearing internship from March 2026 onwards.
