Postdoctoral Fellow – Mid‑Infrared and Terahertz Photonics

About the role

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The role focuses on designing and simulating mid‑infrared and terahertz photonic device structures, contributing to cutting‑edge research in this field.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct theoretical and experimental research on mid‑infrared and terahertz photonic devices.
• Design and implement devices such as topological lasers, detectors, and waveguides.
• Develop, simulate, and validate performance of lasers, detectors, and waveguides.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to explore practical applications of novel photonic structures.
• Prepare high‑quality research publications and present findings at conferences and seminars.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering or related field; PhD or pending PhD preferred.
• Experience in mid‑infrared and terahertz photonic device design and simulation.
• Ability to conduct independent research.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
