Primary Foundation Teacher

About the role

The Primary Foundation Teacher delivers high‑quality English language instruction to young learners, ensuring a smooth transition into subsequent educational programmes. This role aligns teaching practices with the school’s mission, vision, and values while fostering an inclusive, inquiry‑driven classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Use student data to differentiate instruction and inform lesson planning.
• Develop and implement unit, long‑range, and short‑range plans in line with the CIS Curriculum and IB framework.
• Conduct formative and summative assessments collaboratively with team members.
• Maintain accessible daily and weekly lesson plans and manage classroom behaviour and procedures.
• Participate in child protection training, safety protocols, and the Individual Work Plan (IWP) process.
• Engage in co‑curricular activities, special events, and community‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Understanding of second‑language acquisition theories and their classroom application.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Awareness of cultural diversity and ability to engage with third‑culture families.
• Proficiency in using information technology and analysing student achievement data.
• Familiarity with CLIL‑based learning approaches.
