Principal Engineer, Equipment Engineering (Lithography)

About the role

GlobalFoundries is looking for a Principal Engineer in Equipment Engineering for its Lithography business. The role maintains and supports equipment readiness, working as an individual contributor or as a manager, and covers both technical work and cost and safety leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support equipment readiness, performing preventive maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting
• Execute maintenance and tool support, troubleshoot and upgrade equipment to minimize downtime
• Analyze and monitor technical charts and drive equipment improvement plans and projects
• Act as machine owner for assigned tools, ensuring performance, stability and continuous improvement
• Serve as Cost Driver: identify and implement cost reduction initiatives, optimize vendor support, improve maintenance strategies and eliminate recurring failures
• Serve as 6S Driver: enforce workplace organization, standardization, audit readiness and a strong 6S culture
• Follow good safety practices and environmental, health, safety and security requirements
• Collaborate on projects and assignments as needed

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a semiconductor company
• Experience with photolithography equipment is an added advantage
• Specialized knowledge, imaginative thinking and sophisticated analytical techniques
