Principal GSM, Capital Equipment Procurement

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring a Principal GSM within its Capital Equipment Procurement organization. The role is a strategic leadership position shaping supplier and sourcing strategies that support Micron's long-term technology and manufacturing roadmap, driving commercial excellence, supply resilience, technology collaboration and supplier innovation across critical capital equipment categories. It works closely with Technology Development, Manufacturing, Global Operations, Facilities, Engineering, Finance and Executive Leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute global category strategies and act as procurement subject matter expert and strategic advisor for assigned equipment categories
• Lead supplier segmentation, governance, risk management, executive engagement, supply assurance, capacity planning and business continuity
• Negotiate pricing, capacity commitments, technology collaboration, service agreements and long-term partnerships, using should-cost analysis, benchmarking, market intelligence and financial modeling
• Evaluate supplier investments, business models and financial health to support sourcing decisions
• Build executive-level supplier relationships, lead business reviews and represent Micron with senior supplier leadership and industry forums
• Leverage AI tools, predictive analytics and automation to improve decision quality, and champion digital transformation and responsible AI practices in procurement
• Partner with senior leaders across Technology Development, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations and Finance, and mentor team members

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, semiconductor manufacturing, capital equipment, engineering or related fields
• Demonstrated success leading strategic sourcing and managing executive-level supplier relationships
• Proven ability to influence decisions across organizations, functions and global regions, and to manage complex supplier ecosystems
• Preferred: semiconductor capital equipment sourcing experience, deep knowledge of should-cost methodologies, and an MBA or master's degree
