Principal Product Owner, Smart Manufacturing & AI

About the role

Micron Technology, Inc. is hiring a Principal AI Product Owner for its Smart Manufacturing and Artificial Intelligence organization within FE Procurement. The team defines, drives and delivers end-to-end AI and agentic solutions across procurement and adjacent functions. You will own the AI product vision, strategy and roadmap, working with Data Scientists and Data Engineers and engaging functional executives, leaders and external partners. The role covers the full product lifecycle, from discovery through delivery, adoption and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Own the AI product vision and roadmap across FE Procurement, Planning and related functions, defining outcomes, setting priorities and aligning the portfolio to business strategy.
• Work with users to capture and analyse information on the adoption of AI and agentic applications for procurement through stakeholder engagement.
• Manage the product backlog end to end: refine requirements, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and prioritise using value-versus-effort and strategic-fit frameworks.
• Lead product discovery: define user personas, map procurement workflows and pain points, and validate use cases before building.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to design, execute and deliver projects coordinated across global teams.
• Assess data readiness for each use case: availability, quality, lineage and governance, and define the data requirements solutions depend on.
• Develop an understanding of data science and agentic systems and steer solutions from proof of concept through scaled production.
• Partner with procurement, planning and functional organisations to identify opportunities that improve cost, productivity and capital efficiency.
• Translate business requirements into functional and data requirements, user stories and implementation plans, and define scope, success criteria and KPIs.
• Lead cross-functional projects from problem definition through deployment, adoption and value realisation, and use AI, generative AI and agentic tools to improve decisions, automate workflows and speed delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, management consulting or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience owning the full product lifecycle for data-driven, AI or agentic products, from discovery through adoption.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and present to small and large groups and to work with peers and senior and mid-level management.
• Peer leadership, relationship management, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, organisation and flexibility, and outstanding customer focus.

Required skills

• Strong data fluency: reasoning about data models, data quality, pipelines and analytics, and working directly with data engineering and data science teams to define requirements.
• Understanding of data science and agentic systems.
