Process Engineer

About the role

Air Liquide Singapore Private Limited (ALSg), the largest industrial gas company in south-east Asia, is hiring a Process Engineer. The role ensures daily plant reliability, safety and supply availability by overseeing equipment maintenance schedules, managing OPEX/CAPEX budgets and enforcing safety, quality and regulatory compliance. It also leads root-cause analyses for site incidents, drives continuous improvement through Management of Change (MOC) processes and supports training and daily operational handovers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly site maintenance schedules, oversee vendor work quality, coordinate shutdown commitments and keep work orders closed.
• Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for all site incidents, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and drive near-miss reporting.
• Enforce Safe Work Permits, risk assessments, MOC protocols, site safety audits and Integrated Management System (IMS) standards.
• Monitor operational expenditure (OPEX) against budget and propose capital expenditure (CAPEX) justifications for plant improvements.
• Ensure site personnel are trained and qualified, and lead daily shift handovers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a relevant field.
• 1-3 years of working experience in the chemical industry.
• Experience in cryogenic air separation units (ASU) and steam methane reformer units (SMR) is an advantage.
• Ability to lead a team of operation technicians and coordinate cross-departmental work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of process safety risk management tools such as FMEA and HAZOP.
• Strong analytical skills and proactive optimisation proposals for continuous production.
• Organised, detail-oriented, good team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience implementing Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing projects is an advantage.
