Process Engineer - Specialty Chemicals Manufacturing

About the role

A global specialty chemicals manufacturer is recruiting a Process Engineer for its Jurong Island site. The role covers process optimisation, production troubleshooting, plant improvement and engineering project work, with company transport provided at designated pick-up points.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily manufacturing operations to ensure production efficiency, product quality and achievement of operational targets.
• Monitor, evaluate and optimise manufacturing processes to improve productivity, plant capacity and overall performance.
• Identify production bottlenecks, investigate process abnormalities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyse production data and key performance indicators to find opportunities for optimisation, cost reduction and continuous improvement.
• Take part in engineering projects, process modifications and plant improvement initiatives focused on energy efficiency, capacity and reliability.
• Support process safety, quality and regulatory compliance through risk assessments, operating procedures and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, EHS and Quality teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvement solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, track improvement initiatives and contribute to production capacity planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 1-2 years of process engineering experience in chemical or petrochemical manufacturing.
• Knowledge of process safety principles, risk assessments and HAZOP or similar methods.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
• Good communication skills and a strong commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.

Required skills

• SAP or other manufacturing management systems (advantageous)
• Analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Process safety and risk assessment knowledge
