Production Control and Planning

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Production Control and Planning employee in Singapore. The role covers planning activities such as production control, inventory control, process control, shop floor control and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the SAP work order release schedule so materials arrive on time for manufacturing and engineering, reschedule and complete no-charge discrete jobs, and perform pre-shortage analysis and work order variance analysis.
• Review MRP execution, reconcile supply and demand, validate master scheduling and PDS requirements, and ensure proper disposition of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including status reports on ECOs and ECRs.
• Participate in floor audits with Finance to resolve WIP issues, attend production meetings and report on material shortage commitment dates.
• Work with engineers on materials for special engineering projects and with work centers on shop floor control activities.
• Analyze usage data and stock levels to order parts, maintain planned inventory levels, expedite shortages, forecast spare parts needs, examine material variances, and assist in setting up or modifying inventory systems.
• Drive cycle counting and use PCI reporting and metrics to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Act as subject matter expert in project teams to design methods for analyzing big data, perform ad-hoc statistical and data-mining analysis, build visualizations in Tableau, and turn data into action items using Python, SQL or an equivalent tool.

Required profile

• Specializes in planning activities involving production control, inventory control, process control, shop floor control or MRP integrity.
• Full-time position with travel of about 10% of the time; relocation eligible.
