Production Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineering Manager to lead our specialist frame‑making and glass‑installation business. The role combines strong technical expertise with hands‑on production management to ensure premium quality for fine‑art framing, precision glazing and high‑end gallery projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily production activities from job planning through to completion.
• Coordinate frame manufacturing, assembly, finishing, glazing, packing and installation.
• Ensure work meets exact specifications and the highest quality standards.
• Develop and improve processes to increase efficiency while preserving craftsmanship.
• Read and interpret drawings, measurements, specifications and job requirements.
• Oversee glass cutting, glazing, framing and installation processes.
• Implement strict quality‑control procedures for high‑value artwork.
• Manage production schedules, workflow, materials and manpower.
• Collaborate with clients, designers, galleries, artists and internal teams to deliver projects on time.
• Identify production issues and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Supervise and train production and installation staff.
• Ensure safe working practices and proper handling of delicate artwork.
• Monitor material usage, wastage, tools, equipment and production costs.
• Continuously improve workshop systems, machinery, tooling and production methods.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in production engineering.
• Proven experience managing manufacturing or precision‑craft operations.
• Excellent production management and problem‑solving skills.
• Appreciation for quality craftsmanship and fine‑art handling.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
