Production Operator – Medical Devices

About the role

BD Tuas in Singapore is hiring a full-time, shift-based Production Operator for its manufacturing operations. The operator plays a key role in making high-quality medical devices that help improve patient outcomes worldwide, operating production equipment, monitoring process performance, carrying out quality inspections and keeping manufacturing safe, efficient and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Operate assigned production machines and process equipment, and carry out basic troubleshooting to minimise downtime and meet production targets.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as cleaning, servicing and component replacement, and monitor and record machine and process parameters.
• Carry out in-process inspections and product sampling, and conduct changeovers including material replenishment, tooling changes, machine setup and MES system updates.
• Ensure accurate production reporting on output, scrap, downtime and material traceability.
• Follow SOPs, SWIs and GMP, identify and escalate quality issues and support investigations and corrective actions.
• Take part in Kaizen, 20 Keys and other continuous improvement programmes, and contribute to shift handovers and team discussions.
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace, report safety incidents and near misses, and comply with EHS requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary school qualification or equivalent.
• Prior manufacturing, production or machine-operation experience is advantageous.
• Ability to operate machinery and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to safety.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy and ability to work with manufacturing systems (MES) is preferred.
