Project Engineering Manager

About the role

This role is responsible for the execution and delivery of projects, overseeing project planning, site operations, resource coordination, financial control, risk management and team leadership to ensure safe, quality and profitable project outcomes. It covers project management, team leadership, design and engineering, financial control, communication and cross-collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, including budgeting and end-to-end execution from sales handover to delivery
• Plan and allocate resources, define project scope, set objectives and milestones, and assess milestones proactively to mitigate risks and resolve site issues
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery, resource utilization and operational efficiency
• Maintain quality control through site inspections and conduct regular safety assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards
• Manage a team of 7 project engineers, including performance appraisals and developing their leadership capability
• Drive design and engineering activities in line with contractual commitments
• Monitor and report project margin, cash flow and forecasts, manage cost control, lead contract administration, variable orders, claims and commercial risk management
• Keep project delivery aligned with the sales forecast and ensure billing and payments stay on track
• Build relationships with clients, stakeholders, vendors and subcontractors and communicate milestones and timelines to stakeholders
• Ensure project engineers hand over completed projects properly to the service maintenance team for DLP commencement

Required profile

• Practical knowledge of leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics
• Broad HVAC knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline
• University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
