Project Manager - Rail Signalling

About the role

Hitachi Rail Singapore is recruiting a Project Manager (ref. R0146711) to lead and manage several small to medium-sized projects that deliver train control solutions to customers in Singapore and/or the APAC region. The role leads a multi-country, multi-disciplinary team and covers one or more key contracts: resignalling of existing metro lines (CAPEX) and maintenance and services of commissioned systems (OPEX), including asset management, solution renewals, cybersecurity and operations training.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise projects and own the project P&L, driving execution and control until contract closure.
• Manage performance, cost, schedule, quality and risks, and monitor work packages with the WPMs.
• Interface with key customers and third parties to protect customer satisfaction and company reputation.
• Implement EAC, sales and cash forecasts and risk management with the PMO, and follow group processes and tools.
• Coordinate resource allocation with the Project Portfolio Director, Project Director and department heads.
• Support bid activities for opportunities and variation orders, and report project performance and financial results to regional and line-of-business senior management.
• Ensure compliance with company policy, local and international regulations and standards, especially safety and HSE, and coordinate with the quality assurance team.
• Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement, and contribute to the strategy and excellence of engineering and industrial support for the services businesses.

Required profile

• 5-10 years of project management experience, including people management and leadership.
• 5-10 years delivering projects in engineering, infrastructure construction or a related industry.
• Knowledge of maintenance and services operations (maintenance digitalisation, asset management, obsolescence management, spare and repairs, operator training) is highly considered.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Engineering degree (electronic, telecommunications or informatics) or equivalent experience.
• Good technical knowledge of CBTC railway signalling systems.
• PMP, IPMA or PRINCE2 certification.
